In a pivotal moment for Minnesota politics, Representative Jim Joy, R-Hawley, has been elected as Assistant Leader in the House Republican Caucus. Now entering his second term, Joy says he’s eager to tackle bipartisan challenges in the evenly divided Minnesota House.
Joy emphasized the importance of cooperation in this session, as each committee will have co-chairs from both parties. He stated, “Every bill that moves through the committee process and advances to the floor will need bipartisan support to pass. I’m excited to work with the other side of the aisle to advance solutions to the problems facing everyday Minnesotans.”
His legislative priorities include combating fraud, cutting wasteful government spending, reducing taxes, and improving educational outcomes for students across the state.
