An election night fire destroyed a barn in rural Wadena, Otter Tail County, on Tuesday, November 5. The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received the call at 5:23 p.m., and deputies, along with the Wadena Fire Department, responded quickly. By the time crews arrived, the barn was already fully engulfed in flames.
Authorities believe an electrical issue sparked the blaze. While some sheep were rescued, ten sheep remained inside during the fire. Thankfully, no human injuries were reported.
Fire departments from Deer Creek, Bluffton, Verndale, and Henning supported the efforts to control the fire, but the barn was a total loss.
