Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
The Laker volleyball team ended their season on Tuesday, losing in the section semifinals in straight sets to the top-seeded Alexandria Cardinals. The final scores were 25-17, 25-8, and 25-17. The Lakers struggled to counter the Cardinals’ powerful offense, with Hadley Thul leading Alexandria with 19 kills. The Cardinals demonstrated why they were the number one seed entering the playoffs, aiming to return to the state tournament for the first time since 2009. This loss also marks the end of the Lakers’ streak of back-to-back section championships. Detroit Lakes will see seven seniors graduate this year: Hailey Thielen, Sophie Kalina, Mamie Hunter, Logan Fredrickson, Jadyn Wimmer, Addie Wills, and Annie Braaten.
