A woman suffered severe injuries in a crash involving a minivan and an Amish buggy in Otter Tail County on Monday (October 14, 2024), just before 6 p.m. The crash occurred near New York Mills, where 85-year-old Allyn Jokela rear-ended the buggy, driven by 40-year-old Mabel Stauffer. Stauffer was transported to the hospital for evaluation of her serious injuries, while Jokela was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and the crash is under investigation.
