There has been an update on the three-vehicle crash on Tuesday near Detroit Lakes. Two people tragically lost their lives: 33-year-old Cole Carlson from Detroit Lakes and 60-year-old Stacey Nelson from Hawley, who was a passenger in Carlson’s vehicle. Neither was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The crash occurred on Highway 59 around 1:47 p.m. when Carlson’s Toyota Corolla and a Ford Econoline van collided with a Chrysler minivan heading in the opposite direction. The driver of the Ford, 59-year-old Evette Fox from Bagley, was unharmed. The occupants of the Chrysler, Marvin, and Marie St. Germain, both from Fosston, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes.
