As part of **Breast Cancer Awareness Month**, the **Detroit Lakes Police Department** is showing its support throughout October. Officers are participating in various awareness initiatives to highlight the importance of early detection and support for breast cancer patients.
In addition, **La Barista** in downtown Detroit Lakes is hosting a special **”Coffee with a Cop”** event today from **9 a.m. to 11 a.m.**. This event is a thank you to law enforcement of all kinds, inviting officers from across the area to stop by for a **free coffee** as a token of appreciation for their service. The public is also encouraged to come in, engage with local heroes, and take part in informal conversations with officers. This is a unique opportunity to express gratitude and build connections within the community.
