Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
The Laker football team suffered a 28-10 loss against the Morris Area Tigers at Mollberg field on homecoming night. The Lakers’ starting quarterback, Caden Strand, got injured in the first half, forcing the team to make adjustments. Despite giving up two touchdowns, the defense played strong. The Laker defense forced three fumbles and recovered all three, but the offense struggled to score against Morris. Elijah Wychoff replaced the injured Strand and made a highlight reel touchdown pass to Tyler Bye, connecting on a 51-yard strike with 1:24 left in the first half. The Lakers added a field goal from Nick Buboltz in the second half but that was the extent of the offense. The Lakers saw their record fell to 3-2 on the season.
The Lakers will seek to bounce back next week at home when they host DGF. Meanwhile, Morris remains undefeated with a 5-0 record and will host East Grand Forks next week.
