Over the past weekend law enforcement in DL and Becker County were busy. On Friday, the 13th, at 9:06am An overdose was reported at a business along Stat Highway 34 inn which 5 doses of Narcan were administered to a 32-year-old male from Mahnomen. The male declined medical attention. Approximately 5pm fraud was reported at a residence along Madison Ave, DL in which about $30,000 was lost. A 74-year-old female provided pre-paid gift cards to a male she had not met.
On Saturday Fraud was reported at a residence along Fern Beach Drive, DL. A 69-year-old male from DL lost a total of $60,000 in a scam that started several years ago. The incident report noted the scam may have been connected with a computer virus. However, one payment to the scammer was made in person at a business in Detroit Lakes.
On Sunday Rape was reported by a 47-year-old female from Menahaga. The incident report stated the incident happened when the female was asleep. She woke up as the attack occurred. The suspect is a 58-year-old male from Menahga.
