Crash Friday (9/13/24) in Wild Rice Township

A crash occurred on Friday evening, **September 13th**, in **Wild Rice Township**, east of Ada. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that both a **Ford Fusion** and a **Dodge Durango** were traveling west on **Highway 200** when the Fusion, driven by **20-year-old Awuol Kuol Ayiiki** of Grand Rapids, Michigan, attempted to turn south onto Highway 32. The Durango, driven by **31-year-old Zachary Joseph Saunders** of Detroit Lakes, followed and collided with the Fusion in the intersection. The Fusion hit a light pole and rolled over.

 

Ayiiki and his passenger, **24-year-old Patrick Logan** of Fargo, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospitals in Mahnomen and Fargo, respectively. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. Saunders was not injured in the crash.

 

The **Minnesota State Patrol** was assisted by several agencies, including the **Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office**, **White Earth Police Department**, and **Ada Police and Fire Departments**.
