A tragic motor vehicle crash occurred on Otter Tail Highway 20 in rural Dunn Township near Pelican Lake. Emergency services arrived, but life-saving measures were unsuccessful, and the sole occupant of the vehicle, 50-year-old Christopher Berger of Barnesville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash. Multiple agencies assisted, including the Pelican Rapids Police and Fire Departments, Pelican Rapids Ambulance, Life Link, Becker County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Barnesville Police Department, and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office.
