Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-

The Laker volleyball team had a tough matchup on Thursday night at home against the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm, who came into the game with a three-game winning streak. The Storm extended their winning streak by winning in straight sets with scores of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-14. The Storm, having a height advantage, used their size effectively, and the Laker defense struggled to defend against them and couldn’t get their offense going.

Lauren Schloe, Wendi Peterson, and Josephine Anderson led the Storm’s offense. The Lakers got offensive production from Addie Wills, who finished the night with 11 kills.

The Lakers will look to bounce back as they travel to Willmar on Tuesday night for another Central Lakes Conference matchup. The Lakers are now 1-3 for the season and have a 1-2 record in conference games. The win for the Storm improves their record to 4-1, and they will return to action on Saturday when they host a tournament featuring 15 other teams.
