The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently announced over $10 million in funding to support rental assistance and housing services for Native American veterans facing homelessness. This funding, part of the Tribal HUD-VASH program in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs, will benefit around 500 veterans by providing stable housing and supportive services. The Leech Lake Housing Authority, Oneida Nation, and White Earth Reservation Housing Authority received a combined $807,683. This initiative reflects HUD’s commitment to expanding affordable housing and supporting Native American veterans.
