A crash occurred on Highway 87, just west of Becker County Road 43, early Sunday morning involving a Dodge Ram pickup driven by 30-year-old Jerry Barnes of Frazee. The Minnesota State Patrol reports that Barnes was driving westbound when he veered off the road and collided with a guardrail. The road conditions were dry at the time of the accident.
Barnes sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Health St. Mary’s in Frazee. The State Patrol confirmed that alcohol was involved in the crash, though it remains unclear if Barnes was wearing a seatbelt. Emergency responders from Becker County Sheriff’s Office, Wolf Lake Rescue, and St. Mary’s Ambulance were on the scene to assist.
