The Becker County Food Pantry is calling on the community to help by donating clean, empty dozen-sized egg cartons. These can be dropped off at the pantry’s service door or the donation cart located near the front desk of the Detroit Lakes Community and Cultural Center. Both paper and styrofoam cartons are accepted, but 18-count cartons are not needed at this time.
The Becker County Food Pantry, located at 610 Terry Street in Detroit Lakes, has been a cornerstone of support for the community for over 41 years, providing food and supplies to residents in need. Operating on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the pantry allows one visit per household per month and relies heavily on donations and volunteer efforts to fulfill its mission.
The pantry recently received an incredible outpouring of support during the 2024 Becker County Fair, where 3,899 pounds of food were collected thanks to the generosity of fair-goers. A special thanks goes out to Amusement Attractions for facilitating this event and to the many dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly to sort the donations.
This is yet another opportunity for the community to come together and support the pantry’s ongoing efforts. Your donation of egg cartons may seem small, but it will make a big difference in helping the pantry continue to serve those in need.
