Billboards across Minnesota are highlighting open cases of missing Indigenous people through the efforts of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) Office. The campaign aims to bring renewed hope to families searching for their loved ones, some of whom have been searching for them for decades. The featured individuals include Leo Coleman Cortez, Kateri Mishow, Mato Dow, Nevaeh Kingbird, Melissa Eagle Shield, Melissa Burt, Jeremy Jourdain, and April Geyer. Billboards have been installed in multiple locations, including Minneapolis and Burnsville. MMIR collaborated with families, law enforcement, and Crimestoppers to gather case information.
