According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office a high-speed chase that at times went over 120 miles per hour. Shaun Jay Montanari was arrested following a high-speed chase in Clay County. The incident occurred when a Glyndon Police officer attempted to stop Montanari for reckless driving. Instead of stopping, Montanari fled, leading officers on a chase that reached speeds of 120 mph.
Montanari, driving a teal-colored Mercedes with North Dakota plates reported as stolen, was eventually stopped using stop sticks deployed by a Minnesota State Trooper on I-94. Montanari was arrested and booked into the Clay County Jail on charges of felony fleeing, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, and for outstanding warrants in North Dakota. A 39-year-old female passenger was not charged.
