The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has added a new member to their team. K-9 Koa, a 2-year-old German Shepherd from Slovakia, has joined Deputy Kelby Jensen as they work through a 13-week certification process to become an official K-9 unit. Koa will be trained in narcotics detection, searches, tracking, and apprehension.
Koa steps into the paws of K-9 Mojo, who retired this spring after a dedicated 9 years of service. The Sheriff’s Office is currently raising funds to support and maintain their K-9 program, which covers training and equipment for the K-9s and their handlers. Those interested in contributing can reach out to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office for more information.
