Nicholas George Savig, 40, of Lake Park, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court for firearm possession as a felon. In September 2021, a search of his home revealed 37 grams of methamphetamine and a rifle. Savig, previously convicted of drug possession, admitted owning the meth.
Judge Gretchen Thilmony sentenced him to 60 months in prison, stayed for five years, with 90 days in jail and supervised probation. In a separate 2022 incident, Savig was caught with 150 tabs of LSD during a traffic stop and received another stayed sentence of 68 months with 90 days in jail. Both sentences include fines and probation.
