A 24-year old man has been hospitalized after a drowning incident on Little Detroit Lakes Saturday afternoon.  The Emergency personnel from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, Detroit Lakes Police Department, MN DNR Conservation Office, Becker County Dive Team, and St. Mary’s EMS responded to a call about a swimmer who, while swimming from shore, had gone under the water, had not resurfaced.  When they arrived, a search has already begun by citizens on the scene. The incident occurred near Zorbaz, on the 400 block of West Lake Drive on Little Detroit Lake around 3:30 p.m. The 24-year-old man, found by a citizen, was unresponsive and not breathing when pulled from the water. He was first taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes and later transferred to a hospital in the Fargo area. As of the latest updates, his condition remains unknown, and his name is still being withheld pending family notification.
