Minnesota’s e-bike rebate program has shown immense popularity, with 14,000 applications flooding in within just 18 minutes after reopening on Tuesday. The program offers Minnesotans up to $1,500 off a new e-bike purchase.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue initially launched the program almost a month ago, but the website crashed due to high demand, forcing a postponement. On Tuesday, the revamped application portal opened at 11 a.m. and by 11:20 a.m., the state had already closed the portal, having reached its application limit.

The state had planned to accept applications until it received 10,000 submissions. Ultimately, around 1,300 of these applications will be approved for the rebate.
