MN Ranks 5th in the Nation for Child Well-Being

Minnesota ranks fifth in the nation for child well-being according to the latest Kids Count report by the Annie E. Casey Foundation. Debra Fitzpatrick with the Children’s Defense Fund highlights that Minnesota has consistently been in the top five for the past decade. However, the state dropped to 19th in education due to low reading test scores during the 2021-2022 school year. The Kids Count Report evaluates states based on 16 indicators across economic well-being, education, health, and family and community factors.
