Clay County Sheriff’s Office/Lakes Area Radio – An investigation is ongoing into a fire that destroyed an abandoned house about a mile north of Hawley early Thursday morning. Fire Chief Tim Sanvik reported that by the time firefighters arrived shortly before 3 a.m., the structure had already burned to the ground, and the garage roof had collapsed. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, which has previously responded to trespassing reports at this location, is seeking any information from the public regarding the fire.
