The USPS is conducting a statewide audit after numerous complaints about mail delays in Minnesota. Issues identified include delayed mail, incorrect scans, and poor post office conditions. Lawmakers are pushing for improvements, citing the need for timely delivery of essentials like medications (MinnPost, May 2024). Minnesota’s House delegation has called for a comprehensive investigation into USPS performance, ranking the Minnesota-North Dakota postal district among the worst for first-class mail service (MPR News, May 2024). Additionally, the USPS plans to consolidate 30 processing centers to improve efficiency, impacting facilities in Minnesota (Save the Post Office, May 2024).
