(Becker County Court Report) – The self-checkout line became the center of an investigation when a Frazee police officer was called for a report of a customer leaving Frazee Family Foods without paying for her items on October 29th, 2023 Jennifer Diane Lee Belland, 30, of rural Frazee had used the self-checkout machines to ring up a cart full of groceries for only $3.75, the amount charged for 1 can of Pringles. Belland, allegedly, accidentally found a way to run items through the scanner without charges going through. Police discovered Belland had conducted 17 separate transactions from October 1st through October 29th for a total amount of $1,310.75 in unpaid items. In December the officer contacted Belland who admitted to the transactions. Becker County District Court has charged Belland with felony theft. Her next court appearance is scheduled for May 28 in an omnibus hearing
