(Otter Tail County Public Information press release)

The Chauncey Martin Multipurpose building in Pelican Rapids is now open to the public, marking a significant milestone in community collaboration. This project results from a successful partnership between the City of Pelican Rapids, Pelican Rapids School District, Otter Tail County, and several other organizations. Commissioner Wayne Johnson, District 2, emphasized the collaboration that led to the project, stating, “This is a good deal for everyone all around. The school has an updated facility for sporting events, the city’s pickleball teams have nearby restrooms, and those using the beautiful trail have access to bike-friendly amenities.” Among the amenities now offered at the multipurpose center include rest rooms with ample stalls, heated warming house, a spacious concession stand and a large parking area with customized bike racks and a bike repair station. Managed and maintained by the Pelican Rapids School District, the facility is accessible to the public, including Heart of the Lake Trail users, during daylight hours or approximately 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
