DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The Boys & Girls Club in Detroit Lakes felt a profound absence on Wednesday morning as the community mourned the unexpected loss of Robin Nelson, a preschool teacher, mother of three, and beloved daughter. Described as a rainbow by her parents Angie and Ken Elaleu, Robin’s impact was evident in her classroom, where her memory lives on through her young students. Her sudden passing, attributed to a massive brain bleed following a headache, has left her family and community in shock. Despite the tragedy, Robin’s legacy of care and compassion endures through her decision to be an organ donor. Her organs have saved the lives of several individuals, offering solace to her grieving family. Robin’s funeral, held at the Boys & Girls Club, reflected the profound impact she had on those around her. As her family seeks to honor her memory with a headstone, the community has rallied to support them through donations.
