Becker County District Court has filed charges against 38-year-old Tyrel Traverse Ambuehl, a resident of rural Ogema. He faces felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and felony domestic assault charges. The White Earth police officers managed to directly interview the victim, who recounted an altercation culminating in Ambuehl striking her with a metal baseball bat, causing visible bruises and dark spots on her stomach and limbs. Ambuehl has a history of assault and domestic violence, with prior convictions in October 2020 and October 2023. The accused and the victim are in a relationship.
