GRAND FORKS, N.D. The lockdown at Grand Forks Air Force Base has been lifted, and normal operations have resumed. The lockdown was initiated after security forces received a report of a single gunshot near the medical clinic and base exchange around 1:00 p.m. As a precautionary measure, lockdown procedures were implemented, but no injuries were reported, and no source of the sound was found during a thorough search of the area. The search concluded late Tuesday afternoon, and the ‘all clear’ was given just before 5 p.m. Grand Forks Air Force Base leadership expressed their gratitude to local law enforcement, emergency responders, and the school district for their swift response.
