FARGO, N.D. – A Fargo man, Trevor Dale Nelson, is facing charges related to a stolen vehicle after his belongings were discovered inside. Nelson is charged with Theft-Possession-$1,000-$10,000, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 29, 2024. According to court documents, on Tuesday, April 16, a white Ford Taurus was reported parked in the employee lot of Cullin Insulation for two days. The vehicle had been reported stolen on March 27, with a BOLO issued by Red River Regional Dispatch.

Inside the stolen vehicle, investigators found several items linking it to Nelson, including a pay stub, EBT card, probation document, and prescription labels–all bearing his name. Nelson has a history of vehicle theft, theft of property, and illicit narcotics use, among other offenses. Police located Nelson at Center Inc., where he was detained. When asked why he was being detained, Nelson mentioned the borrowed vehicle, stating he had borrowed it from a friend because his truck was broken. However, Nelson denied involvement in the initial theft of the vehicle from the underground garage.
