WAUBUN, Minn. – Cedar Crest Resort on White Earth Lake in Becker County, Minnesota, is busy preparing for the summer season. However, unexpected repairs are now underway after Tuesday’s strong winds, with gusts of up to 50 miles per hour, caused significant damage. The resort owners, Brian and Celia Schneck, are dealing with a new project due to the windstorm. The main dock at the resort was twisted, bent, and toppled into the water by the large waves generated by the wind. Despite efforts to secure the dock, the decking was blown off into the water, with about 50 pieces still missing. Rebuilding the dock could cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

The main dock is crucial for the resort, housing boats for the restaurant and cabin rental customers. Its absence will impact the summer season if it cannot be repaired quickly. While smaller docks at the resort are still usable, the missing pieces of the main dock are a concern. The Schnecks are asking those living on the lake to be vigilant and report any sightings of the missing dock pieces.
