VICTORIA, Minn. – Salon SPAtoria in Victoria had an unexpected and rather wild encounter on Wednesday when a group of deer decided to pay a visit. Co-owner Robin Fredrick was conducting a training session with an employee when the deer came charging across the parking lot towards the salon. “I turned and looked, and I said, ‘They are coming full speed ahead!’ They did not hesitate and crashed right into the window,” recounted Fredrick. Jeff Essig, owner of Clean ‘N Seal, happened to be on the scene and captured video footage of the deer as he tried to help usher them out of the salon. The animals, after some slipping and sliding on the tile floor, were eventually guided out the back door.

While no humans were injured in the incident, the salon’s windows and floors suffered some damage. Co-owner Kathryn Paradise described the aftermath, saying, “We have deer hair everywhere…deer hair and glass.” To ensure the safety of their clients and staff, the salon has called in a hazmat crew to clean up the mess overnight. Despite the chaos, Paradise remains positive, stating, “(We have) so many things to be grateful for. No one was hurt (and) material things can be replaced.” Salon SPAtoria is expected to reopen for business as usual this morning.
