JORDAN, Minn. – Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store is set to move, but not too far away, due to an impending road construction project that would block its main entrance. Owner Robert Wagner faced a challenge when a new interchange on Highway 169 threatened to close access to the store. After meeting with county and state officials, a solution was found. Scott County proposed building a new road to the store, but this plan was deemed too expensive and environmentally challenging. Instead, the county offered to trade the store’s current land for another piece of land less than a mile away.
The new location, within the city of Jordan, will provide the candy store with city utilities, including water and sewer services. Wagner estimates that being on city sewer service alone will save the company around $40,000 annually. Additionally, the new plot of land offers more space for the store, allowing it to expand to about twice its current size. The move is planned for the spring of 2027, with the current store operating as usual until then. Wagner is excited about the move and the opportunities it presents, noting that they may soon become the largest candy store in the world.
