FARIBAULT, Minn. – Coyle Bauer is a bundle of energy, always ready for the next adventure. But his journey to this point has been anything but ordinary. During a routine ultrasound, doctors discovered that Coyle had a lower urinary tract obstruction, which severely damaged both of his kidneys. At just 14 months old, Coyle was in need of a kidney transplant. After a five-month wait, the Bauer family received the news they had been waiting for: a kidney was available for Coyle. The transplant surgery, performed at the Mayo Clinic, was a success.

Today, Coyle is thriving, thanks to the generosity of a donor and the skilled surgeons at Mayo. His story highlights the importance of organ donation and the impact it can have on individuals and families. The Bauers, who were not registered organ donors before Coyle’s transplant, are now advocates for organ donation. They encourage others to consider registering as organ donors, emphasizing the lifesaving impact it can have. Coyle’s story is a reminder of the hope and healing that organ donation can bring to those in need.
