GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. – The Golden Valley Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in injuries to three individuals early Sunday morning. According to police, multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired were received around 4 a.m. on Sunday at Lions Park in Golden Valley. Upon arrival, officers found a juvenile boy with a gunshot wound. They applied a life-saving tourniquet before transporting him to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Subsequently, two male victims with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds were discovered in Brooklyn Park. Law enforcement believes their injuries are related to the Golden Valley shooting. Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green stated, “This appears to be an isolated incident, and there are no outstanding suspects or threat to the neighborhood.” The department is collaborating with the Brooklyn Park Police Department and Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
Residents with ring cameras or other outdoor surveillance devices in the Lions Park neighborhood are urged to review their footage and contact the Golden Valley Police Department with any pertinent information. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
