In Winona, a 37-year-old man, Marsean Shines, created a scene on Thursday night, prompting a police response to a domestic disturbance in the 350 block of East Sarnia Street. Upon arriving, officers heard a woman’s cries for help. Allegedly, Shines became upset with his girlfriend over work-related matters and accused her of infidelity. He then reportedly assaulted her, pushing her down and throwing objects at her. The victim attempted to seek refuge at a neighbor’s home before returning to her own apartment and locking Shines out. However, he forcibly entered by kicking the door down. As officers arrived, Shines leaped out of the apartment window and ran. He was apprehended in the 600 block of Franklin Street. Shines later admitted to fleeing out of fear. Shines, who had existing warrants for domestic abuse and DWI, now faces felony domestic abuse charges.
