MINNEAPOLIS – Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a man on Friday night. The incident began when individuals inside a vehicle flagged down officers at the intersection of Longfellow Avenue and 26th Street East around 8:50 p.m. Upon investigation, officers discovered one of the vehicle’s passengers had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound. Despite efforts from medical teams, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. It appears that the vehicle was en route to the hospital when police were flagged down. Authorities believe the shooting occurred on the 1700 block of Glenwood Avenue, where evidence of a shooting, including a Shotspotter activation, was found.The victim’s identity and the official cause of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
