ST. PAUL, Minn. – The St. Paul Police Department made a public announcement via X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, shortly before 6 a.m. on Wednesday, revealing that law enforcement is currently delving into a fatal shooting incident. The tragic occurrence unfolded overnight within the vicinity of Thomas Avenue and Grotto Street North. As of now, detailed information regarding the incident remains scant, leaving the community and law enforcement alike seeking answers. In response to the situation, the St. Paul Police Department has scheduled a press conference slated to commence at 8 a.m., where officials are expected to shed more light on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Regrettably, this marks the second fatality involving a shooting that the St. Paul police have been compelled to investigate within the span of a single week. Just days ago, on Monday, the city was rocked by another tragic incident when 19-year-old Omar Noor Nunow lost his life due to a gunshot wound sustained in an apartment. Court records suggest that the fatal shot was fired accidentally while a man was handling a firearm. These consecutive events serve as a sobering reminder of the urgent need for addressing the issue of gun violence within the community.
