Neighbors in Burnsville’s Sunny Acres mobile home community praised law enforcement officers for their bravery during a recent stand-off. The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, started when neighbors heard a gunshot from inside a residence on Buck Hill Road. Burnsville Police responded and discovered a woman inside the home who had fired the gun. A shelter-in-place order was issued, leading to an hours-long stand-off that ended with the woman’s arrest. Two officers from the Tri-City Tactical Team sustained non-life threatening injuries during the operation. The incident comes after the recent line-of-duty deaths of three Burnsville first responders, adding to the community’s somber mood. Despite the risks, neighbors were impressed by the officers’ professionalism and courage in handling the situation.
