Winona authorities are probing a potential burglary at a residence situated in the 1300 block of Lorrai Street. The male resident had been away for several hours on Wednesday and upon returning around 9:30 p.m., he discovered a necklace lying on the floor of his bedroom. Subsequently, the man noticed the absence of two gold necklaces belonging to his deceased wife from her jewelry box the following morning. The combined worth of the missing items is estimated at $400.
While investigators are scrutinizing footage from a neighbor’s security system, no suspects have been identified thus far. According to a police spokesperson, there were no visible signs of forced entry, and the victim was uncertain whether he had locked the doors prior to leaving the premises on Wednesday.
