FARGO, N.D. – A fatal stabbing outside a popular restaurant and bar in south Fargo has led to the arrest of one man and the death of another following an argument. Michael Diedrich, 28, was taken into custody by Fargo Police for murder in connection with the stabbing, which occurred in the parking lot of SouthTown PourHouse and Duane’s House of Pizza in the 4200 block of 45th Street South.

Fargo Police responded to a report of a stabbing just before 1:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been stabbed. Despite receiving emergency care and being transported to the hospital, the victim was later pronounced dead. Preliminary investigations revealed that Diedrich and the victim had been arguing inside the establishment and were both asked to leave by staff. Diedrich is believed to have stabbed the victim outside the restaurant before fleeing the scene.

Captain Bill Ahfeldt praised the swift conclusion of the case, attributing it to the collaboration between the criminal investigations division and neighborhood services division. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of family members. Fargo Police have cautioned against engaging in confrontations, urging individuals to walk away from potentially volatile situations if possible.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been disclosed at this time.
