Following a failed expansion vote last December, FARGODOME officials are now focusing on the future. They’ve launched a survey to gauge Fargo voters’ opinions on potential dome expansion. This survey, conducted by Fargo-based research provider Prime46, was approved with up to $25,000 allocated for the study during the February meeting.

“This survey is crucial for understanding what our citizens want,” said FARGODOME General Manager Rob Sobolik.

While the surveys have begun, there has been a delay in receiving the 400 completed responses needed for the study. Originally expected within 30 days, the responses are now anticipated in another 3 to 4 weeks.

“We are still in waiting mode to get the information from that survey,” said FARGODOME Authority member Dave Suppes.

Once the data is available, the board plans to present it during a joint meeting with the Fargo City Commission. The city will then decide whether to proceed with another vote and what form that vote might take.

“We will have an idea if the FARGODOME is proceeding forward with the idea of another vote for the renovation,” said Suppes.

The board has decided to wait for the survey results before finalizing their next steps, recommending no additional action at this time.
