FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Officer John M. Klingbeil responded to a car theft report at Menards in Grand Forks on January 20th, around 4:29 P.M. Mitchell Christopherson reported that his roommate’s girlfriend, Darian Longie, had taken his car while they were in the store. According to Mitchell, he and his roommate, Brandon Nadeau, left Darian in the car while they went inside Menards. Upon returning around 4:00 P.M., they discovered both Darian and the car were missing, leading them to suspect she took it.
The stolen vehicle is a black 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander with front end damage and Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation license plates (AAI254), valued at approximately $12,000. Surveillance footage reviewed by Officer Klingbeil showed the car arriving at the lot around 2:40 P.M., with two men resembling Mitchell and Brandon exiting the vehicle. Later, at 3:27 P.M., a person in a pink jacket, matching Darian’s description, drove the car out of the parking lot.
Upon confirming details with Mitchell, it was revealed that Darian was indeed in the car and wearing a pink jacket. Items inside the car included a Citadel Boss25 12 gauge shotgun valued at $399.99, purchased goods from Scheels worth $486.83, and a JBL party box 100 speaker valued at $250. Darian Longie faces charges of theft of a motor vehicle, theft of a firearm, and theft of property ($500-$1,000) for unlawfully taking Mitchell’s belongings.
