In the past 24 hours, Minnesota State Patrol has been busy responding to 261 crashes, including 29 with injuries and one serious or fatal. Additionally, troopers dealt with three jackknifed semis and helped 142 vehicles that slid off the road due to the winter weather.
With more snow in the forecast, officials are urging drivers to plan ahead and be prepared before hitting the road. Sgt. Jesse Grabow emphasized the importance of checking road conditions, travel advisories, and using the 511 app for updates.
For those venturing out, it’s advised to carry emergency supplies in the vehicle, such as warm clothing, blankets, snow brushes, and ice scrapers. Grabow recommends keeping these items in the vehicle until Memorial Weekend, as spring weather in March can be unpredictable.
