(Valley News Live) – The Moorhead community mourns the sudden passing of 16-year-old Ethan Monshaugen, a cherished sophomore at Moorhead High School who died from a spontaneous aortic dissection. Remembered for his kindness and love, Ethan had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued. His mother, Jenna Askvig, shared, “You hold a special place in my heart that nobody else can have,” reflecting on Ethan’s loving nature and his special bond with his siblings.
Quinn, Ethan’s sister, fondly recalls his warm welcome whenever she came home, while Cam, his younger brother, remembers their hockey games. Nolan, his other brother, treasures Ethan’s caring texts after his hockey matches. Ethan’s father, Cory Monshaugen, praised his son’s constant smile and willingness to help others. Marcus Askvig, Ethan’s stepfather, fondly remembers how Ethan embraced him as part of the family.
Beyond his family, Ethan made a lasting impact as the manager of the Moorhead hockey team and a passionate golfer, cherished by his friends.
