Congratulations to Luke Tweeton of Detroit Lakes and a graduate of Frazee in 2020. Earlier this month, wrestling for the University of St. Mary’s in Bismarck, as a Redshirt Sophmore, finished 8th, and became an NCAA DII All-American, finishing his Season at 28-10.  Tweeton, wrestling for Frazee, finished with three Top 4 finishes at the MN State Wrestling Tournament, in his High School Career, for the Hornets and is the son of Tracey and Dan Tweeton of Detroit Lakes.  Luke Tweeton was coming off a First Place finish at the Super Regional Championship on March 4th, heading into the Nationals.  The DII Nationals were in Park City, Kansas and were held March 15th and 16th.  Luke, who wrestled up at 285/HWT, took a First Round Loss to La’Ron Parks of Notre Dame-Ohio, then bounced back with a win in the Wrestle backs against Gavin Shamblin of Glenville State 13-4, then beat Taniela Feliciano-Takafua of Simon Frazer 4-2 and continued his run through the Wrestle Back rounds, but with a loss to Crew Howard of Nebraska-Kearney to move into the 7th Place Match and lost a tough 4-2 decision, in which he could not secure a late Takedown, to Ryan Herman of Maryville.  By placing in the Top 8, He became a DII All-American for the First time.  The University of St. Mary’s in Bismarck is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (Since 2006).  As a Freshman for the Marauders in 2023 made it to the NCAA DII Wrestling Championships, after placing second in the NCAA DII Super Regional V, with record of 23-13.  Luke will have two more years of Wrestling and is Majoring in Criminal Justice at U of Mary.
