(Red Lake, MN) — Details from a criminal complaint in Todd County shed light on the abduction of a toddler that led to an Amber Alert in northern Minnesota’s Red Lake Tribal Nation on Friday. According to the complaint, 36-year-old Jennifer Stately was arrested during a traffic stop, where officers found the boy in the backseat. They noted that the child had scabs covering his entire body, open sores, some actively bleeding, mostly on his face, and a strong body odor suggesting lack of care for several days.
Stately is charged with four felonies, including third-degree assault of a victim under age four, child torture, malicious punishment of a child, and child neglect resulting in substantial harm.
