Burning Restrictions Commence for Otter Tail County and 37 Other Minnesota Counties This Spring

Spring burning restrictions are now active in over 30 counties across western, central, and northern Minnesota as of today, March 18th. Due to the dry and warm conditions, there is a heightened risk of wildfires. The DNR will not be issuing permits for open burning of brush or yard waste until these restrictions are lifted. Authorities note that this year’s spring fire conditions are significantly early, about six weeks ahead of schedule.
