Otter Tail County is taking the conversation around Mental Health and Suicide to the next level

OTTER TAIL COUNTY, Minn. — Otter Tail County is taking the conversation around Mental Health and Suicide to the next level. A newly-formed suicide prevention group is working to bring awareness to an issue that impacts families across the country. From 2015-2019, Otter Tail County reported 58 deaths by suicide, of which 50 were males.  Wednesday, Feb. 14, marked the first meeting of the Otter Tail County Suicide Prevention Group. A coalition of about 30-strong made up of public health officials, pastors, educators, counselors, law enforcement, parents, and survivors. The group will now jump into action planning and figure out how to get their ideas to the community. Those interested in joining the Suicide Prevention Group are encouraged to reach out to Otter Tail County Public Health.
