The Perham Area Chamber held their monthly Power Hour meeting on Tuesday February 13th. Here is an update from the meeting: Ross Vettleson from Bongards gave a expansion update for the Perham plant. Vettleson stated that the latest expansion started in 2021 with their new cheese warehouse, in 2023-2024 they constructed an evaporator and more vats, and in ’24 a dry plant warehouse with more loading docks. Bongards is also in the process of expansion of their treatment system. The new construction will also create around 15-20 news jobs. Perham Health’s Sue Von Ruden gave an update on February Heart Health Month. She stated that Perham Health will be having events in accordance with Heart Health Month the week of February 19- 23rd. Check out the Perham Health website for more info. The Perham Events Committee rep Leah Monson from the Chamber updated their Spring Spectacular events. It all started with Valentines day promotion and will run throughout the Spring in Perham. There will be many events and you get the info on perham.com or checkout their Facebook page at Discover Perham. The meeting concluded with an update on the 2024 Main Street ReconstructionProject. Plans are set and for bids to be taken in early March. The project will be set to go as soon the Spring weather allows. The goals is to have limited impact on the downtown area by starting on the East end first, then skipping to the West end and doing the mid ection downtown in later August or September. They also stated that the two main street parks, NP and City/Turtle park will get updates with new washroom facilities planned for NP park. We will keep you posted as this project goes forward.
