FARGO (KFGO) – Cass County Electric Cooperative says customers could wait until the weekend or later for the full power system to be restored.
Cass County Electric Cooperative estimates between 250 and 300 power poles broke during the Christmas Day ice storm.
Repair progress will depend on weather, road conditions and how much more damage crews find in the field.
Crews from Roughrider Electric, McKenzie Electric and Burke-Divide Electric Cooperatives are assisting Cass County Electric with repairs.
Their power supplier, Minnkota Power Cooperative, is also working on transmission and substation issues in addition to Cass County Electric’s system damage.
As of Wednesday morning, Cass County Electric CEO Marshall Albright reported that more than 3,500 customers were still without power.
